range rover chassis into s111 lightweight

(1/1)

dead camel:
Has anybody got any thoughts on how difficult it is to re chassis a lightweight series 111 with a range rover chassis??? thanks andy

Rich_P:
Don't do it.

First you have to tackle the work of shortening the chassis, second you then have to go and enjoy a Q plate since it's no longer a Lightweight but a hybrid.  Third is that why not enjoy a leafer for what it is and not make it into a wannabe 90?

TBM:
Think of it more as a rebodied Range Rover and you'd be OK.

If you retain the RR chassis unmodified and make the Lightweight bodywork fit (not hard as all panels are straight!) then you can retain the RR numberplate. You've then got all the benefits of the Range Rover (discs, perm 4WD, suspension etc) with all the good looks of a lightweight. Best of both worlds.....
