First thing to do is use a voltmeter and check if you have wigglies to the connections.

Usually its just the connections; if you havenet got a  voltmeter give them a good clean and try again.

The fittings that hold the bulbs can get badly corroded, make sure you remove any corrosion from the holders to ensure a good contact.

After that I would trace the wiring back, checking all the connectors. I have known some of the wires into a plug under the dash next to the A pillar corrode through, which killed a number of my rear lights.

have you checked the fuses??? as they are linked diagonaly across the vehicle IIRC that will be why driver front and passenger rear are out, but like others say corrosion or maybe the bulb has blown

You should have 1 fuse for the RH lights and one fuse for the LH. IIRC the right hand side also lights the dahs and the LHS the number plate.

If the fuse blows you have a short circuit.  Firstly check the tow bar electrics as these are vulnerable to damage and can cause shorts/cross talk.

Next try removing some of the light units and check the curent draw/resistane to earth before trying a new fuse so you don't go wasting fuses.  You might have had a wire chaffe through somewhere.

well it's had it's M.O.T and it passed  :D in the end I got out an auto electrician to find the problem with the lights not working on the passanger side but he had no luck as well, so he spliced it with the side that was working, It turned out that the front drivers side that wasn't working was because the unit was corroded we changed this and that works now, cheers.  Ben

When mine failed it was the joint at the end of the dash, it had got wet through condensation and the bullits corroded.
