1" lift rear only - Update

<< < (4/4)

bambamjj:
Well got welding done last night for lower towbar attachments, put Tank guard on changed rear  springs, shocks renewed all parts for anti-roll bar put bumper back on, went for a test drive to take rubbish down tip and WOW! massive change to vehicle, have not done front but it is pushing to do it now.

When i took off the rear shocks you could compress them with very little effort and they would not decompress just stayed at compressed.....

Springs seemed very soft compared to new but they were same height but vehicle now sits slightly higher now at rear which i am happy with.  all back together now and very pleased with results cant wait for run to work on Tuesday it is 37 miles of country lanes so lets see  :D

Thanks all for your help, just need to do front now gonna go for standard springs with pro-comp +2" shocks

Range Rover Blues:
Standard shocks are ot gas presurised so they don't extend, youd find the Britpart cellular dynamic don't either and they are quite a firm shocker.

But newer is always better.

Bambamjj, did you fit the boots to the shocks?  I did on mine and now wish I hadnt as they trap and hold water which has killed the already shoddy paint on them!  Mine are still on, but with no cable ties at the base just a 1" slit to allow the boot to slip down over the body of the shock.

Only bit that didnt impress me with the Pro-Comps though as the ride is spot on with a 1.5" lift using the blue springs (which also have very little paint on them now either - I must be unlucky with paint or summat)

bambamjj:
Yes fitted boots but not cable tied, had same problem as you on my previous disco the boots i have do have small holes in bottom end tho.

Ride is good, nedd to change front now, parts ordered and as long as i can convince SWMBO will be fitted this weekend  :D
