Are you going to do anything about the gearing?

Well I won't be to begin with as I've ran out of cash but I'm sure it will be on the long list of mods, at the top I would say with the flexi arches.
They will probably be the first things I will need to do before I can use it much I guess.

At the moment it has a manual box with viscous coupling, but I have an auto box from a 93 Rangie V8 waiting to go in anytime soon, so I'm not 100% sure what transfer box I will need to use etc now that I'll have the bigger tyres fitted.

Why's that?  If you do the maths they should be the same to within 0.1" diameter.

Would a Defender transer box bring the gearing down to a useable level

The maths ................

265/75 x 16 = 31.65" diameter

(265 x 75%) x 2 = 397.5mm or 15.65 inches; on 16 inch rims that makes 31.65" diameter

235/85 x 16 = 31.73" diameter

(235 x 85%) x 3 = 399.5mm or 15.73 inches, on 16 inch rims that makes 31.73" diameter
