The red die is not the only difference ..

the chemical make up is different thats how they tell, not the colour ....

I agree with the top up with the dino and new filter that will give you a starting point..

Whatever you do, if you're gonna use it on a public road of any sort, even greenlanes, DO NOT, NOT, NOT use red diesel.

Check the fuel lift pump if a new filter and a tank of the proper stuff doesn't cure it. Those can cause engines to refuse to rev if they're faulty.

Range Rover Blues:
Once in the sytem the red dye is there for good, so if you intend to put it back on the road be careful.

Red diesel is often delivered by the same tanker, the dye being added at the point of delivery! whilst some manufacturers may put more additives in their road fuel (shell/esso/bp etc) red diesel is white diesel with dye in it.
