This weekend I will be towing my caravan to a canal festival to help set it up and run it. ot a normal holiday I know! However, I have been told the site was spongy last weekend so after all thie rain I am going to uess it will be a bit boggy. Maybe time to play the towing in vehicles game!  :D

So due to this and mpg being poor anyway I have some options of tyres.

I generally run on bfg at's. they worked well last year but struggled sometimes when you put a 6 wheel campervan on a tow rope!

I have a set of grizzly claws too. These arent very good on road and th caravan doesnt handle very well with the bfg's on so towing with all the grizzlys onis a no no.

what if I were to put the grizzlys on the back and keep the bfg's on the front? Is that a, an allowed combination and b; be ok to tow with?

Only other option I have is change all 4 tyres when I get there and again change back for journey home. In a muddy field that wont be fun. I could just leave the bfg's on.

I am coming home after the weekend and going back again next wednesday so Imay tow caravan to site on friday with bfg's on, sus out site and then change the rear tyres and just tow home on the grizzly / bfg combo.

anyone any thoughts?

J B:
dont mix and match, thats asking for trouble, i's stick with the bfg's and use diff lock when needed

muddyjames:
I know a council that has landies and has mud tyres on the rear and road on the front.

I was using diff lock alot last year. I did 80 miles driving around a field towing various combinations of things in and out and through the mud! 1 tow was 2 disco's together to get a uton transit out the mud!!

mike142sl:
Take the grizzlies and change them when you're there - but find somewhere suitable to change them i.e. not on the muddy field.
