whining noise

at week we was towing a caravan and when under stress like heavy pullin had a whinig noise came not sure if it was
the diff or gear box as far as i know levels are ok only checked them a month ago any ideas any one

Have you swapped all the oils recently? they do get thin.

Was it a hot day? did it make it home in one peice? did it over heat?

I'd suggest you turn up the radio! the gearbox will make some noise, more when towing but if it isn't BANG, rrrrrrdddd then I'd ignore it.
