Hello Everyone,

Here is a problem of my own making and I am looking for the easiest solution. Basically two weeks ago I parked the disco a 2000 v8 in the driveway but to make room for the father in laws disabled scooter i parked it drivers door hard against the wall and climbed out the passenger side. Not thinking anything about it I used my wife's car for the next two weeks and when I went back to fire it up the central locking didn't open the doors (battery discharged) OK i thought just use the key and give it a boost, but of course I cant get near the drivers door. I thought of trying to get a lead onto the alternator output (don't know if I could reach that far up) and one onto the chassis to attach another battery but I don't know if this is possible. I am therefor open to all suggestions (apart from ones that may harm me)

Why can't you use the key on the passenger door or the boot?

beast5680:
if the battery is flat you should be able to open any door with a key lock ? have you tried opening the rear door? the lock should unlock i would have thought

remmy7:
Sorry,

I should have said, on my Disco there is only a keylock fitted to the drivers door and nowhere else I assumed all D2's were like this and when activated by the key it only unlocks the drivers door(again I assumed all were like this). There is a switch on the dash to operate the central locking.

boss:
there is only a lock on the drivers side on a d2. you will find it very difficult to do it but if you have a child small enough you could send them up into the gap in the engine bay. other wise the catch on the bonnet isnt hard to jimmy open(im told)
