10 spline or 24 spline ???
fezzy192:
i have just brought a 90 and i am breaking a rangie with some 24 spline axles
i dont know whether to change them for the 24 spline or leave the 10 spline on
i,m only going greenlaning and some slight off roading
so do i change them or leave them ? :-k
thanks kev
Range Rover Blues:
Swap them, then you'll get rear disks too and you can fit alloys safely. You will need to keep the 90 callipers though on the front and the radius arms are different too.
clbarclay:
10 splines should be plenty strong enough for green laning and "slight off roading", but as andy says there are other benefits to swapping the axles over.
Before fitting the 24 spline axles, its a good opertunity to give them a refurbish with them off a vehicle.
stuntman:
On a similar line, I'm breaking a disco 300tdi, and I own a defender 110 csw with a salisbury rear on a 89 plate. Can I use the front axle from my disco along with the salisbury rear, are the gearing the same for the 10 spline and 24 spline axles??
Tommo:
yep
