Mud-Club Issue
Eeyore:
afternoon, class.
Three recommendations come out from above.
1) Every so often, folk have just got to be prepared to accept what they can't control and what doesn't need commenting on. Questions we don't mind, as I've said before, it's a lack of respect for the answers that causes the midden to hit the windmill.
2) Write very carefully, becusue phrases involving 'geting a life' can be so easily miscontrued. Maybe it wasn't meant negatively, but it could certainly be read that way.
3) Contributions to the forum that don't continually seem to imply that the Club could be a better place, or are aimed to bate a response may help keep the atmosphere in here a little more 'fun, friendly and free'.
Schools out! :D
Cheers

i dont think there was any need for that, was there? the post was fine until you added the narky comments on the end. all keri was suggesting is that a few people could chip in to help out, but apparently she's in the wrong for trying to make a sensible suggestion.
now please, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong (which im sure you would/will do), but i dont see any traces of an insult by anyone in this thread. all i see is one guy asking if anyone knows where his stuff is, one girl making what i would consider a sensible suggestion, and a handful of mods biting back for no apparent reason.
at the end of the day, if you're reading into everything as an insult, then maybe its time to chuck the mod hat in the bin and call it a day, because as far as i was always aware, mods are meant to be non biased. the fact is, there was no insult there, so there was no need for the narky comment. if the comment wasnt made, then none of this would have cracked off.
there wasnt a complaint tacked on the back of someone elses thread until there was place for one... and even then, theres nothing that says "im complaining". that said though, if you post something and someone snaps your head off for no real reason, then the way i see it, whoever the victim was has every right to complain about it.
besides, at the end of the day, this is an internet forum. to expect nobody to complain is just unrealistic. if you dont want complaints from one person or another, then theres two real options - dont moderate the forum at all, or dont run the forum at all. you cant please everyone.

MOD/ADMIN HAT OFF :
I can only assume that neither of you have read of the replies to other people currently awaiting fulfilment of orders. If you had, then you would have also realised that the mods are responding to each and every one with pretty much the same response. The response won't change.
As you are a business person, what do you say to a customer when something you have ordered on their behalf cannot be delivered quickly? Do you offer to help Denon (example) by going over there to help in the factory?
And as I've pointed out above, whenever there's a contentious post, you can pretty much guarantee who the main protagonists will be. I mean it's not even like you've hidden the fact you've been banned from forums?! Care to tell us why?
Oh and at the end of the day, a suggestion that we get more staff in should have been directed through PM to ADMIN.

That sounds like a remarkably good idea, now where's that off switch ?
I have had quite about as much of this as I am physically able to stand...
AbyssDJ:
you are correct, and i can honestly say that i've not read the other threads where people have stuff thats not been delivered. however, if the replies ARE as hostile as the above, then something really needs to be done about it, dont you think? theres no need for the hostility, when a simple "sorry, its being sorted out as quickly as possible" would do fine.
as far as the other question goes though, call me predictable if you like, but in the case of something not being delivered quick enough then YES i have driven halfway around the country picking stuff up to get it to its destination on time. to be precise, 10x moving heads, 2x jem hazers, 2x pioneer cdj1000mk3's, and two 150mw rgy lasers.
as a matter of fact, i'll be driving a good distance tomorrow to deliver some equipment too, and in a few weeks ill be doing the same again delivering ~£4k of equipment to a school in slough. currently, it seems that they're pushing to get stuff quicker than its physically possible too, so i do hope that answers that question.
as far as being banned from other forums goes, why would i have a reason to hide it? its common knowledge anyway, if nothing else. i was banned from LRUK for being me, and not acting up and being some high and mighty perfect member. actually, i didnt get on with the admin, and he didnt get on with me....
either way, all that is besides the point, and has nothing to do with mud-club. infact, i do recall someone saying (a long time ago now) to leave problems and friction from other forums on the other forums... so please dont contradict any rules that mud-club may or may not actually have written.
datalas - its your call, to be fair. i've seen and used bigger forums that have closed down in exactly that manner.
