Ahh, but I also want to get a Gulf-spec grille (£56 plus a few quid for matched paint from Halfords). On the other hand I should probably reward it for getting through the MOT first time earlier this month... :lol:

The only worrying part is getting the new retaining rings in - do you need to part the spring from the spring seat to do this, and what's the safest way to do that if so?

yes and u use srping clamps theyre cheap as chips probably pick em up from machine mart and u also have to tae to shock absorber out

or put a small bottle jack between the axle and the chassy to push them apart and release the pressure on the spring  ;)

though you will still need to take the shock out :D

that is if the ring needs changing... :-k

you should really replace them if you are feeling lazy then dont bother but ideally u should
