200tdi alternators

Can I pick someones brains??

I have been told that:               
                 a) all 200tdi alternators are the same (Defender/Disco/RaRo)
                 b) Disco & Rangey are the same - Defender is different & not interchangeable
                 c) There is a choice of two for the Rangey & they are not interchangeable (which I find hard to believe as that
                     would imply different looms and brackets)

Does anyone know the score?

Not Specifically but most alternators are pretty standard with regard to mountain brackets Etc. and terminal connections, the differences are in the current output.

It's quite possible that the RR had a higher rated Alternator than the Defender as there is more electrickery on it but it should be easy enough to find the current rating of yours.
