windscreen wiper arm/switch

my F reg defender has'nt got an intermittant setting just a manual flick which can be a real pain!
would a later arm/switch with intermittant fit and work?

Nope... not just the switch.

However - give Autosparks a ring (or I can get you one)....

They do a little box of tricks that you simply plug into the wiring loom, and it gives you an intermittent wipe (set by turning wipers on and off) and wash/wipe when you press to clean the screen.

Fitted this type on my f reg 11 years ago and still working fine mind you mine is the old genuine lucas relay... :D :D
