Bruce Springsteen and the Mud club band !!
wizard:
ha ha Nothing to do with 'ol Bruce.
20 years ago i wanted to learn how to play the saxophone, and just recently i bought one. I was wondering how many MC members play instruments and what do you play?
It took me 20 years to buy a sax, i hope it doesn't take another 20 years to learn to play it.

Bagpipes...!
Started in 1982 when I joined the Army Apprentice College in Harrogate as a compulsory hobby for the first term... voluntary after that. Left it behind in about 1986 as there was no band where I was stationed. Took lessons again in Glasgow in about 1996ish... founder member of the reformed Royal Signals Pipe Band around the same time but left in about 1997. Recently, been tempted to commit to starting piping lessons for the cadet group I'm part of and that'll be starting in Septemberish.
So... I'm back on the chanter practising scales, grace notes and bought a set of practice pipes recently to get my blowing technique back.
On Saturday was at the National Piping Championships in Canon Hill Park, Birmingham. Here's a couple of pics for those interested.

I must say Skibum, I LOVE the bagpipes. I love to be in the thick of it with a full pipe band, I even have the Royal Dragoons as my ringtone on my mobile!
Used to play the trumpet as a kid, went as far as passing my O grade music with it and played with a Big Band Jazz Band in my teens. Unfortunately I could never afford my own trumpet so had to give it up when I joined the Navy.
I have a guitar at home as I always wanted to learn, but never got round to it!!
Discopoo:
Play the guitar now and then, never enough time
