Time to spend some money on the Defender

Berliner Beer:
I have managed to scrape some money together and my plan is to take it to my usual garage and arrange to have some TLC done.

Its a 110 300tdi with 98000 on the clock. I will get the usual service but is there anything else that i could done. Is it worth getting the head gasket done before it goes? I was also planning a waxoil and all fluid changes,
any ideas gratefully received.
