OK, yes theft is wrong. The old lady dies of a heart attack induced Id guess by the stress of the theft going pear shaped.

BUT.

What if the guy stealing the juice had a family, a mortgage about to foreclose, and a small haulage company that had suddenly ceased to become profitable due to the massive rise in fuel prices.

My feelings go to the family, and those who knew her, but the demand for fuel, and thus the theft only arose because of the cra**y state of the country. If you couldnt find the cash to feed your family and a local farm had an unlocked fuel tank, how many of us can say it wouldnt cross our minds?

Its a shining example of the state of things, that fuel(lets face it a neccesity) is becoming out of the reach of a lot of people, that mebbe we should look after ourselves instead of caring for the rest of the world, that mebbe the government should intervene and find some kinda capping sysytem for fuel/food prices. etc etc etc.

Ill get off me soap box now, but Im cross because of the price of things, Im a biker again instead of a 4x4 driver cos they dont guzzle so much, but this is gonna happen again and again until we either stop using the damned stuff, or someone intervenes.

Ps, I know a government controlling food+fuel is heading towards communism, but hey, maybe its worth a try.

hubby has been on SSP for 14 weeks - but we havent resorted to stealing - and never will, we were brought up to RESPECT other peoples property.......we dont drink or smoke - but have a mortgage and bills and struggle to survive week to week, I have just started a job as a community care Nurse and as a result we have had to get a 2nd car purely for work - otherwise the fuel costs of the family car would cripple us.. case of damned if we work damned if we dont!
