trickydicky:
i agree i brought cheap they lasted aproximatly 200 miles then shatterd ind i ended up having to biy a new prop

merlin617:
hi again,

I always fit Hardy Spicer UJs. Ive never had any trouble with them and they aren't much more expensive than the cheap and particularly nasty versions. Also an occasional shot of a wonderfull new product I think called Grease helps no end.

clbarclay:
The last pair of UJs I got were GKN and they were supplied with extended grease nipples which are useful on the front prop as on a standard prop (1987 RRC) when prop is rotated so the grease nipples are pointing down, the jokes close over the recesed nipples that the UJ normally have fitted, making it difficult to grease them. These are extended enough so that you can still get grease them at more or less any angle but, not too much so they shouldn't suffer any more than normal nipples when off road.
Yet to find out how long they will last.

Les Henson:
I agree with some of the others - buy Hardy Spicer U/J's. It might be worth doing both ends of the prop even if only one has gone.
How to do it-
