Advice needed on front propshaft

(1/2) > >>

Landie Lover:
Hi there,
I'm new to the site, I have a 90 1997 diesel with a knackered uj on the front propshaft. Ive removed the prop and am now driving it with diff lock engaged. Am I likely to cause any damage to the running gear driving like this for a week or so, mostly road work, any speed limits??
Any advice much appreciated..
Also may I say a great web site and many useful comments..
Cheers in advance.

Landy Andy:
Don't think you will do any damage, take it easy pulling away etc.

Why drive it so long before repair?

Easy job, cheap

It will be fine removed my front prop for two weeks when i blew my front diff, was also fun drifting it around corners with 35 inch tyres on

merlin617:
You should be fine, but take it easy, I ran mine without the rear prop after breaking a half shaft, got a bit too ambitious pulling out of a junction and snapped a uj in the front prop  [-X

ChrisV8:
Don't repair the UJ by buying the cheapest nasty UJs from Sh*tpart get decent ones cos the nasties only last a few hundred miles !
