Body lift

(1/1)

Mighty_zuke:
Hi, Just got my mk1 Shogun and it rocks. The only complaint is its lwb an tends to knock a little on the 4x4 track. Just wondered who has done a body lift on one of these and what I need to extend when I do mine. All I can think of is the steering linkage, the brake lines and the gear sticks. Do I need to extend them or will they be ok?

Regards

Mike

You do a 2 inch lift without modifying anything

Mighty_zuke:
Brilliant.... Guess I just have to wait till pay day then!

2" no problem. Finding the front 2 mounts in the engige bay is fun
Uncoil brake pipes in engine bay as lifting,
Make sure heater pipe connectors at back of engine bay, against the bulk head are TIGHT as there will be extra strain put on the joins, ( i didn't and lost all my coolant).

And i had to turn the top of my T-case lever gaitor in on its self as the excess rubber was making it hard to select 2wd.

Total cost was £17.50

A bit of scaffold tube cut to 2" x 8 (12 for LWB)
8 x 150mm M10 high tensile nuts and bolts (12 for LWB) (nylon locker nuts ;) )
And three cutting discs for the scaffy tube

Works a treat

Hace fun its really easy to do

Excellent... I have some scaffold tube at the back of the garage. So i guess I just need the bolts. I might even get those before pay day

Thanks for that

Mike
