how easy is it to change transfer box

<< < (2/2)

ChrisV8:
Just taken me a whole day to change one on daughters RR but that was a Borg Warner in a tiny garage with inadequate lifting kit.

Have changed an LT 230 in half a day using a big trolley jack, best to invest in some long studs to help getting it all lined up, see this thread

Studs won't work with a Borg warner as the housing is totally different and it's an awkward shape, fell off my jack twice !

Have fun !

will the disco t case pull 33s on the road ok.   gearing isnt bad but im doing more motorway now . higher range would be nice

The Disco transfer box on my 110 Td5 works well enough with 35 12.5 muds, needs a bit more of a boot on a hill start perhaps but is fine when rolling.  I think the rolling resistance of the tyres make more of a difference than the higher gearing tbh.

i got 33  1250 16 on mine and ace yes need to give a bit extra as you go up a hill but for cruising etc it soooooooooooooooo much better :)
