OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE!

(1/2) > >>

peasey:
while fixing my non working rear windows today (i was removing the window ecu to solder that dry joint)i dropped my screwdriver on a smaller rectangular box underneath it now the indicators wont stop flashing and the central locking wont work on the key or the fob.can anyone tell me what the hell have i done?or at least how to return things to how the should be.i knew i should have given my motor a wide birth today and left things to a more suitable date.im really hacked off that i have [!Expletive Deleted!] it up cos it was working perfectly untill i touched it.oh and its not my v8 gas guzzler any more its now my new, well to me anyway,  94 300 tdi please help me!

ben_haynes:
you have knocked / dislodged you Imobiliser spider, i dont know what the fix is i assume it is a disconnect and reconnect job but some one will be allong to tell you in a bit

peasey:
i forgot to mention in my first post that i have no trouble in starting the car its just the hazards and the central locking the only info i can find on the spider is that its located in the middle of the dash underneath everything. the place i was working was under/ behind the glovebox are they linked in some way?i just dont want to start ripping the dash out if it can be avoided.oh and to stop them flashing i removed the 15 amp fuse on satalite 2 on the interia fuse box

peasey:
Right im on a bit of a roll today and managed to sort loads of small bits and bobs including this problem, what i dropped my screwdriver on was the crash sensor,i tried the ignition on and off,no good, disconnected the battery no change, dismantled crash sensor checked it and replaced no change.so from then on i was at a loss until my 4 year old who was sitting on the wing watching dad trying to get himself out of some ever deepening brown stuff, leant down and pushed the bonnet alarm sensor and i had left the ignition on while i was back and forth and it stopped.so my son ben is available for all major fault finding at a very reasonable rate(usually a tube of smarties) to anyone who requires his services. To be honest its about time he helped for a change rather than wandering off with that all important bolt or spanner little [!Expletive Deleted!]!!!!

ben_haynes:
who wants the tube of smarties you or him???   i have a range rover p38 that knocks at the rear is he any good with them???
