Fuel System Flush
« on: June 10, 2008, 22:10:32 »
Hey guys,

I've got a tank fuel of crud and rust (don't ask!) and it's been drawn up to the pump and carbureter. I've pulled the fuel pump and cleaned the rust from the inside, replaced the carbureter and she fired up again gave me about a mile but the next day she concked out after 100 yards.

I need to flush out the lines and the tank itself. Whats the best way of doing this? Also there was a milky looking residue in the fuel pump when i cleaned it. We've put a fuel system cleaner in there. Is this likely to be it or is it something else?

Any help is much appreciated.

Pete
