hiya mate good work there!

how easy/hard was the rear coil conversion? it looks very straight forward, but looks can be deceiving!

well im half way though building my new sj.(this would now be number 3. +the lwb vitara.)and its starting to take shape now. so time to put some pics up.
started with an early 410 with a 1.5 pug desel in it. well haft off one. the head gasket had gone on it and some one made a right mess off stripping the engine down!

so got it back to my work shop ready to swop engines.

out she comes.

1.5 diesel with sj 5 speed box bolted to it!

but thats were things did'nt go to plan!
the engine was't a 1.5 pug lump but the early 1.4
that were know for blowing head gaskets!!!
and the conversion plate from my other diesel lump was to good. so as a stop gap. the 1.6 vit lump has been dropped in.

winch bumper made. and on still got a alloy skid plate to fit to it.

kept it back nice and tight to the front grill.:wink1:
started on the rear next. fitted secound rear hoop (thanks gray)to make more room behind rear seats

and the fiited the rear lights up in the rear corners. :puke: AND THAY LOOKED SH#T!!! so picked up the 9" grinder and. cut the lot off!!

then started on the rear coils.with vitara rear axle.
in place to see what it looks like.

then made up all the brakets and fixing to bolt it all up.

top link

all bolted up with rear part off tube try back on..

just enough room from some 32" dirt devil in there!!
well the cage and tubed rear end is starting to take shape..photoshoped the landy rear lights on just to see how it would look!. and looks better for some bigger tyres to! 8)

and the rear end just as i was hoping for :D

SPOA with rear up front on the front axle. all fitted up today.so should be long now before i can see what hight its going to be.
just hope i can get it out the work shop?! :?

had a bit off fun stripping the front vit diff for the R&P.
SPRING CLIP ON THE END OFF HAFT SHAFT WOULD'NT LIT GO
so hit it with the 9" got it out in the end!

can you see the bent spring clip that was not coming out for nufing!!!

so its getting there.soon be play time?!
its getting there!

rear's up front. and new shackle bracket..
exhaust (S/Steel one at that  ) fitted.

up out the way!

and let it out for some air!!and to see how she sits

hoping to get some more done tomorrow..
bit off an update..

got a bit more done.
front cut and modded to clear wheels..
and arch held on with tape!to see what it looks like..

then made welded up the spring mounts.

then added something for a later date!!!can you see it?

then made up mount for highlift. never new how many use's a spring plate could have... not only did the vit srpings sit in them just right, but so does the foot off the highlift..

started to line out the rear bed..

its was warm last week in the workshop!! so seemed a good time to spray it
so i did!!
