I've never been sure if that (or the bit about needing signs) is actually a law or just something authorities have done in an effort to avoid mass camera BBQs?

:)The "digital camera" on top of the sign is the sensor to detect the speed of vehicles approaching. My husband uses them in his work (he runs a traffic management company) and you can set them to the speed you want.

This was another box on top of the speed sensor!

If a speed camera catches alot of people speeding it's not doing it's job. On the other hand if a camera doesn't catch anyone it's doing a very good job, or it's busted :)
