stuntman:
Hello chap, I'm not plugging items here but I have a 200tdi, with blown piston rings, however the head was rebuilt 500 miles ago. I ran fine but smoked like a dog when idling.

£200 and it's yours, I'm planning on rebuilding it if not.

Chris Putt:
Hopefully *Fingers crossed* its going to be sorted today. Its at a friends workshop at the moment and hes working on it today. I would be there helping out but having fractured a vertebrae Im not really in a position to help with much!

Ta for the words of encouragement!

Chris

bilge rat:
not good , but as already said the worst is usually  snapped rockers, usually just a few bent p/rods, the pistons hit the valves straight on so they very very rarely get damaged. good luck .....

J.D.:
Have had to do the timing belt on one 200Tdi where I had to take the head off as the push rods were so bent I couldnt pull them up through the rocker cover.

Good couple of hours work to do the timing if you are used to it, and best part of a day if its the first time.
