Reverse lights staying on.

Just noticed that my reverse lights are staying on constantly.

I noticed yesterday that the gate between 1st and reverse dissapeared to.

i pressume these are both related.?

I had it on my Disco; yes they are related, the plunger for the switch alsohas the spring for the gate.

It's not a huge job at all to change, you go down from the gearstick and the biggest part is the trim and drilling out the riveted panel on the transmission tunnel.
