P38 Alloy Wheels

(1/2) > >>

ben_haynes:
My dad bought a set of supposed Alloy Wheels for a P38, we fitted Tyres on them, offered one up to the Vehicle but the wheel Nuts are too big for the holes, is this because the wheels are from a later P38 / Disco II and i need the nuts to go with them or are they possibly from a L322 / Sport / Disco III

please help the alloys on it are BUTT UGLY and these were cheap

I can't help much but mine has Hurricanes on the car which are 18" then a 16"spare; the same nuts fit both.

I would have though if the wheel goes on the stud it should be OK.

Hightower:
Unfortunately there are at least two types of nut for the D2 / P38 wheels.  When I moved from 16" to 18" I had to change mine as well (the holes in the wheel are different sizes).  The ones I have spare are the big ones so won't help I'm afraid.

Pop into Nene Valley, as Gary usually keeps a spare set or two.

both the original wheels 18" and the off road wheels 16" are the larger wheel nuts, 72.8mm diameter and the holes in the new 18" wheels have 70mm diameter holes

they fit on the studs but the nuts dont go in the holes to screw on the threads

L322/RRS/Disco wheels can be fitted to the 38a using the later bolts and a little ring to supply correct centering. That's the way I went:
