intercooler full of oil

(1/2) > >>

meader:
i have oil running down the side of my engine and its coming from the inltet

i have taken the top hose off too and thats got alot of oil in to and it also smokes a bit from this pipe wot could be causing this

pegleg66:
check the inlet and output of the turbo pipes which has more oil in ?, this could either be your turbo as i thought it was with mine or a breather pipe, unfortunately it turned out to be the bores. how much mileage has it done? does it try to over rev, the engine could start feeding off the oil that is probably in the plenum chamber as well as the intercooler, first of all take the intercooler out and pipes, when you have taken pipe off the top ( intercooler to plenum chamber) check wether the chamber has oil in as well, i hope for you it's just a breather. once cleaned out, see if you can get a 2nd hand turbo and try that, check for play in the rotor (fins) in the turbo, only should  have little play in it.

hope this helps

not another turbo matty(meader)

meader:
it seems someone has it  in for me i must go to church and have my sins blessed ill go and check the breathers first and she is on about 140000 miles

pegleg66:
mine had approx  220,000 when i took the head off, the bores had a lip from the piston rings, the lip stopped about 4mm from the top. good luck, just awaiting my mechanic fit next engine.
