I can vouch for the fact that the air flow meter works - unfortunately it didn't cure my problem, so he's still got it.

I had the same problem on my P38, the bad news was that there were no units available worldwide, the only one I could find was in Central America :(

I used (at Brookwells' suggestion) a place in Abingdon or thereabouts who broke Land Rovers.  (Normally I managed it myself :) )  They provided a second hand one at a reasonable rate which helped me out of a grave reliability situation.

The only thing is, I can't remember what the place was called!  Maybe somebody else will know, or if not, I can try to dig out the receipt.
