how difficult is it to make a southdown style snorkel for a 300tdi

looking at making a southdown style snorkel for my defender 90.
just how difficult is it to make one, and roughly how much will it cost.

Why not just buy yourself a Southdown?
There not that expensive and Southdown sell all the parts seperatly if ever you break any thing
 :D
