Diesel bacteria

I read today that car engineers are worried that with the advent of bio diesel and bio/mineral mixes that there may well be a rise in the occurences of fuel trouble caused by diesel bacteria forming a sludge in the fuel systems of cars, we do see it occasionally in farm equipment thats been left idle for long periods, you get this sludgy deposit out of the fuel system which then needs flushing and treating or it comes back , so i wondered whether anybody on here using bio diesel and the like had heard of the problem?

I'm running Bio in the Disco
I've not heard of that but i did notice something when i changed my fuel filter the other day
I tipped the diesel into the new filter and when it got near the end it changed colour and consistancy
Gone was the purple/clear liquid and out came some nasty brown sludgey oily c***
Fortunetly i didn't get that much into my new filter ;)

It's a big problem in marine engines- do search on 'diesel bug'.

If you leave bio standing for a while it will be gone as it is edible to flies and bugs, I had a barrel of bio and when I filled up some was left on the top, came back next day and there where loads of dead flies on top, doesn't suprise me that there is something that can live in/on bio.
