The Stupid Thing What I Did Today
thermidorthelobster:
You need a nut splitter, it's an essential part of the Land Rover toolkit.

Range Rover Blues:
Done that once or twice and come away relatively unscathed. No excuse though, Safety First.
On the subject of nut splitters, they never work for me, well rarely anyhow, plus there is a certain satisfaction in removing that b***y nut in the most destructive way possible.
"NOT SO HARD TO TAKE OFF NOW, ARE YOU?"
PS
Special tool No.1, like it  Usually call mine 'pit spanner', 'Edinborough socket set' or 'fine adjustment', depending on size.

I'm trying to work out what expletive bu***rg is!! (or is it Latvian??)
Sorry, I'll go and apply my attention to my poorly (AGAIN  ) alternator
xmob:
A nut splitter was no use to me this time as it was the nut on the metal pipe side of the rear flexi hose, one of those "half height" ones.
I had a job where we called No.1 tool a "calibration tool", but I client got wind of this and thought it wasn't very professional and complained to management. Understandable to a certain extent because we worked with delicate process control and monitoring equipment. :D
