McGuire:
Lee, If you could. And how much do they want?
jiffyman:
Sorry to bump up the theard, but I'm BACK on here now!! lol!!
Got rid of the Camo niva, and the maroon one is on the road again now.
Had a few problems throughout the year......
Noisy timing chain so tried the 'rocking forward' to adjust spring tension, rolled back and chain slipped, which I did not know until i tried to start it!!
So, new valves required, and whilst stripped down, replaced the tensioning shoe, chain guide and valves, and put it back together.
Run it for a few weeks now but now running quite right, Alan (ladauk) reckons that the chain could possible have stretched whist the guides were worn, so it is in pieces at the moment!!
All 'bits n pieces' in the front of the engine will then have been replaced, so should run sweet!!!
Going to get the 'Hoodoo' alty bracket made up to move that and redo the snorkel, and maybe a few more MC stickers!!
Have also sent a PM about booking for Wicked Whaddon 3, so hope to be there too!!!
McGuire:
Good to see you back! Can be slightly awkward to get the timing chain correctly positioned on the pulleys, but I know you can do it!
jiffyman:
Done it a few times now, especially after the valves 'kissed' the pistons............
Didnt cross my mind that they would be bent. They say that sometimes you miss the most obvious things!!
Stripped and checked and reassemble several times, as there was a 'score' mark on the cam pully at 180 so thought it could be timed by that.
Just popped and farted, same as in the 'proper' position!!
Nevermind eh, should be ok , IF and when the weather lets up and I can got out there and put it together, finally!!
Lincs niva:
Good to see you back jiffyman :D
Cheers Gav
