how deep before i need a snorkel and breather kit?

Defender:
Whilst I don't recommend it, you can sometimes manage without a snorkel.
Below is a photo of me at Rusland Pool many years ago:


Series 3, 2.25 petrol, no snorkel & very wet feet.  :lol:

I hydro locked my engine a couple of months ago, cracked the block and bent the rods and vales. Cost over £300 to fix

The water didn't even come to the bonnet, so YES I advise a snorkel, you'll never know til is broke.

i think i may go for a snorkel then.
is it difficult to build a snorkel?
