Jimny engine problems

edsute:
I’ve just bought a Jimny G13B which has suffered a damaged head due to insufficient oil. The camshaft, camshaft bearing and journals are all beyond repair. The easiest option would be to get a replacement head and fit, if I could find one at a reasonable cost. (any offers)
Second option would be a replacement engine. A standard 1300 Jimny engine would be a nice simple straight forward job, again if I could find one at a reasonable price. But it has been suggested putting in a Vitara 1600 16v valve in. This option sounds interesting as I would only be using the Jimny for offroading .
I’ve seen a thread on Jimny.se forum discussing engine swaps, but it seems a bit unclear. As far as I can tell the options are:-
Put a Vitara 1600 block in and use the Jimny head and injection system. No good as my head is US.
Put a complete Vitara 1600 16v injection G16B in or even a Grand Vitara 1600.
Has anyone done these conversions to a Jimny? Any advice, comments or suggestions welcome.

Not sure if heads are inter-changable. I would go for replacement Jimny engin but go for a later twin cam modle. Try KAP I think they were selling em for about £45o. Or go for a 16v Vitara engin, KAP are advertising one for £250+vat.. A straight like for like replacement shouldn'r be more than £300-£350, again try KAP or a loacl Jap specialist breakers.

I not sure if the single cam can be replaced with the twin cam, 1600 16v vitara sounds good if I can get some clear info on fitting

glaggs:
As fa as Iknow the twin cam engin shares the same bottom end (as they all do more or less) but different to end, so should mate up jusy as easy as a Vitara engin. If you wanna be adveturous why not go for a Peugeot diesel engin conversion!

edsute:
What about the electricals, ECU etc, the cam has sensors
