Power Steering

MTyrrell:
Dose anyone know how easy it is to add Power Steering to a 1989 (F) 110 2.5 TD.
Looking at it I’d say the hardest part is mounting the pump. I don't know how it is mounted on models with PAS.

Is this a good idea or should I stop been a big girl’s blouse wanting such luxuries and keep it as it is?

unknownmanxman:
My mate has a 1989 2.5td 90 with power steering, so i would imagine that its fairly steaight forward for you to do it.... I think its just a straight swap with your steering box...

i did this on my td 110 when i had it............
if you buy a second hand kit complete ie
pump, res, lines and box it is easy just bolt pump
to engine take off non power box add power box
mount resovior and plumb in lines
fill up res start engine turn from lock to lock
check res refill and hey presto =D>
power steering.........but..........

you must get a pump from a diesel or td engine
cheap enough s/hand as the other engine types
don't fit as i remember will take about 4 hours
to fit
 :D

It can be done........

I converted a 110 to PAS very easy but the hardest thing is the bottom pulley on the engine Needs to be a double pulley

I got my kit from a breakers first box fitted was knackered so he replaced FOC

mounting the pump you use the water pump housing bolts

Bobtail:
the one i did already had the double pulley
there so no probs  :D
but not too hard a conversion :D  :D
