Gearbox crunching, 3rd to 2nd

My 200 Tdi 90 has started snicking and occasionally crunching when going from 3rd down to second, doesn't do it all the time. ISTR that this is a pretty common issue but is it likely to get worse and is it something that can be attended to? It is still under warranty so will report it but need to know some facts.

that happend with my gear box when it was cold in the mornings, it turned out that the gearbox was full of E.P 90 instead of auto transmission fluid, but if its still under warentee take it back is my advice,
