(1/2) > >>

bodgeitjo:
hi guys got a new bearing for my rear diff out put flange as iv"e got a lot of movement in old one . any one know if its a straight forward job  or is it going to be one of them pains that should only take 20 minutes but end up takin hours.    thanx     jo

extreme90:
its not for a diy person to do, its a involved job that requires knowlage and specialist tools
ive done loads, built lockers ect ect
and ill do anything to get out of diff rebuilds still

chris9119:
As extreme90 says, a right ball ache of a job.

The bearing can only be removed by taking the diff apart. The bearing is only removable from the inside.

Rebuilding requires tools to set up the preloads, etc.

For the price of a second hand unit, I'd just buy one.

I have 10 & 24 spline diffs if required. £50 each + delivery (£25 due to the weight)

bodgeitjo:
cheers guys i"ll be leaving that well alone then.

Gav_T:
I did mine yesterday, seemed a pretty easy job tbh. Although this mention of setting the diff back up does have me a bit worried. Its all bolted back up, in and working and seems a million times better than before but could there be long term problems?

Gavin.
