Discovery front bumper mods

bigwood:
The front bumper lower edge on my L/Reg 200TDI is already cracked and bodged so I was thinking of taking the lower skirt off. Also this would solve the problems of towing eyes and steering gaurd. This would leave the bumper ends too long of coarse, are there any suggestions other than cutting them off. Being short of pennys  for my toy I cant afford a nice winch and bumper just yet. :tappity:

Disco Matt:
If you cut the end caps down they look fine - I don't know if the 200TDI ones are the same as the 300TDI but on the 300 there's a line in the moulding that works very well as a cutting guide. I just sawed along that, tidied up with a file, and bolted them back on.

clodhopper:
i have taken the plastic lower skirt off my bumper this weekend. but i cut the end caps along the same line as the lower edge of the metal bumper. i think it looks a lot better.

Thats what I did with my old 200 a while back.  Was a rough rush job and looked OK to me!
