3.5 V8 lost all power...
v8rangie:
Yeah i have a haynes.
im picking up another complete Range rover today to swap all the bits over till it works and so i have a load of spares.
squaddie_fox:
mine did exactly this. tried everything you have. eventually got it driveable. BUT..............you need to check your valley gasket. if the rubber or the gasket are knackered, like mine, you can get it running etc. then when you are on the motorway, it all goes bang! well lots of smoke and some little bangs. when i stripped the engine (3.5 efi) the intake system was full of oil, and i tracked it all down to the rubbers on the valley gasket being perished. even though the engine had apparently been rebuilt!
v8rangie:
well i didnt get the other rangie as it was a carb model.
but i have spent another couple of hours clening sensors and stuff and i have now given up im gonna pay someone to fix it now its getting right on my nads.....
Range Rover Blues:
Well if they fix it the fuel economy will save enough money to pay the garage bill ;)
v8rangie:
Yeah thats true.
im gonna tell him if its gonna cost me hundreds then dont bother. ill just convert it to diesel or just drop a 3.9 in :)
