VED (Road Tax) - Retrospective application back to 2001

<< < (2/8) > >>

Range Rover Blues:
If they hammer all large engined cars bulit prior to 2001 then every diesel van, large saloon, oick-up and 4x4 will get clobbered as they are all 2,499cc engines.

Shorlty afterwards the blind barsteward will be packing his bags.  It the V8 drivers who will get clobbered.

WHEN WILL THIS BUNCH OF IDIOTS LEARN   if I have to pay £400 a year to tax my RR so that I can two my caravn, I'm going to damned well use it, if I can't afford to run 2 cars then ther Micra will go.

If I'm not allowed to tow a caravan then I'll fly abroad like the cabinet do and squander as much fossil fuel in the 2 weeks as my 4x4 uses a year.

But then I was never stupid enough to vote for this bunch of cretins in the first place.
They have completely miss-managed the economy, squandered billions depsite having a cash surplus, they have got the country billions into debt and are still something like 6 billion pounds short of making the books balance because the downtun in the housing market has closed up the vein marked "stamp duty".

Range Rover Blues:
Oh and I've just heard that they are scrapping the fuel duty relief on biofuels in 2010, we have to vote them out NOW.

Complete and utter proof that this is not a party with green credentials, they are the emelder marcos of british gov't, squandering, incompetant idiots.

could this be because more people are switching (or will be FORCED) to switch to Bio fuels? hmmmm didnt something similar happen to Diesel? more people went diesel - so prices went up?
currently paying 92ppl for bio (went up on thursday) local price for dino diesel is 114ppl, RED diesel locally is 75ppl and unleaded is 104ppl...

JumboBeef:
Motors pre 2001 are not affected.

All motors post 2001 are:

redhand:
This is utter and total rubbish If you look at the chart it shows quite clearly that Group G only applies to vehicles registered after Mar 2006, All they have done is split the Emissions for band G into 6 different bands instead of one large band, However on the chart it doesn't make it very clear whether or not the new bands have the same application date as band G. So I have emailed the treasury and asked them to clarify the situation. Instead of running round like headless chicken why don't you all chill and wait till Monday for their reply. Which I will post on here.
