New (to me) DII V8 with TC and ABS lights on
« on: March 08, 2008, 23:25:10 »
Howdy all,
I have just bought in Japan a 2000 DII V8. 8-[ Only problems are: the TC and ABS lights are on.  The truck has a flat battery (as in DEAD flat) and the little jump pack they used wouldn't power it up.  Now i'm guessing with a fresh battery and a reset these lights could well go out and stay out but if not......where do I look first?  :-k

Thank you all...I hope....

with a new battery they will go straight out, the BeCM has a safety device that allows it to shut certain system down to save them and the battery, usually starts with the Airbag system and then ABS and TC systems,

if it doesnt cure it then i would look at the wheel speed censors on the Axles

I'd agree, the wheel sensors.  Might be worth having your local independant clear the fault codes at some point in time though, just to check there are no gremlins.
