Free wheel hub problem

(1/2) > >>

Lincs niva:
Ok when i disengage the drivers side front hub after being in 4wd the drive shaft is still locked. Its as if the hub itself isnt disengaging when i set it to free...Im assuming its the hub inside thats seized .Will it need cleaning out and freeing off or is it more serious??????

Cheers Gav

jiblet:
hmm easiest thing to do would just be to take it off and have a look, if it was seized then i doubt youd be able to move the locking mech atall

Evilgoat:
Take it off and strip it. ISTR someone saying about the locking mech breaking.

MuD ChUckER:
If you have not done it already take the front bolts out remove front cover ,,look to see if the sping(s) are still connected ,,if not there is your prob ,,if the springs are still on Gav they might just need freeing off mate ,,,this happend to mine .hope that helps ......Mick

Lincs niva:
Cheers Mick

Cheers Gav
