200tdi alternator

hi there the alternator decided to give up on my 200tdi 1993 i bought a new one but the wiring is different the one one had a 3 flat pin plug on it but the new has 3 bolt type terminals on dofferent parts of the alternator? iv wired how i think is right but just wondered if anyone else had ever had this problem? thanks to all jim

Does it work? If so, you've wired it correctly.

Do you still have the old one? If so, remove the brush pack bolted to the back of the alternator, you'll probably find that they are worn down. You can buy brush pack kits for about £12, that's 99% of the faults on an alternator  :idea:
