New fob

Hello, Ive bought a new fob and its the right 418 mhz. It has a new 3v battery and the led lights up when i press it.
The problem is when i do the procedure to code the new fob nothing happens, ive done it lots of times and nothing.
Can enyone help please?

Is this a single button fob on a classic?

Then firstly did you check the frequency on the master ECU itself? lots of them had the "wrong" frequency fitted.

Secondly are you getting a mate to open the bonnet? I tried to do it on my own loads of time but you can't, you don't get anything like the 10 seconds or whatever you're supposed to.  Once I got a helper involved it was easy.

 Yes it is a single button fob on a 93 classic. Wheres the master ECU, i haven't checked that, i just assumed it was 418 as it should be. I was doing it myself, i had the bonnet open and a brick on the alarm button. Ive been told its possable to do like that, but to be honest i was sick of running around the car.

I was using a long brush :lol:  you simply don't have enough time.

On a hard dahs you should find the master control above the throttle pedal, buried inside the metal dash structure or on the outside edge of it.  There is a sticker on it that tells you it's part number, frequency etc.

You can also see it on the inside of your old key fob sometimes.  The colour of the circuit board inside the key fob is another way to tell but I was told it's not that reliable.

Anyway, get a mate to help you, that might be all it takes ;)
