Yoshi:
Talk to the elderly in your family, they will know a hell of alot more than you will ever know!

Also www.geneology.com and some free software which i cant remember the details of which keeps record of your tree on the pc.

Also do a google search for freeBMD and you can search stuff through there.

Try: http://www.familysearch.org/ & Ancestry.com From these two websites I managed to trace my family tree directly back to my great, great, great grandfather in 1802.
I've since found another possible link back as far as the early 1600's in Northumberland. Just need to link the 1600's to the 1800's  :D
I have a feeling that I'm now going to have to do some leg work visiting various parish records in places, as not all the info can be found on the web.

Baron-Red:
Ancestry.com My wife has traced her family back to 1308 hence the name Baron-Red

'Baron' as in noble, 'Red' as in the colour of my old disco

(de la Harpe family)
