The donor vehicle is just about stripped and the new chassis, bulkhead, suspension, gearbox, etc, are all sat at work. The strip down is on my web site (www.sjnash.co.uk) and the build up will go on there as it gets underway.

I have to say, the strip down is not much fun! Looking forward to the putting together stage  :D How long do you anticipate to do the job? I'm only working Sundays, and not all of them, so I'm targetting June as a finish date!

Been on it for a week or two so far, i would hope its done and painted be the end of march, including all the trick parts yet to be added

Customer didnt want it doing so i havent, And seeing as its a genuine landrover parts its got to be good for 15 years or so,

One thing that concerns me looking at the pictures is what looks like the potentially damaging combination of lowered top damper mounts, longer dampers, standard bumpstops amd raised bottom damper mouints on the front.

Not a concern at all, used the same set up on a few motors now, including my own motor, and they do get abused to hell. couldnt ask for a better set up to be far,

Guardian.:
ive often thought about the galv chassis, but to be honest dont see the point, like mic says a new chassis will last an absolute minimum of 15 years and a galv will not last that much longer, they do still rot eventually, and are you gonna have your new build in 15 / 20 years time?
as we all know once you start throwing money on landrovers you are basically writting that cash off, as it doesnt really make it worth that much more, although more saleable admitted, but might as well save d the extra grand and just had a standard chassis.
