Jake:
If it is the 'spider' it'll be the whole centre dash out to get to it
I know this because i changed mine recently
Its not that bad though, i did it in my lunch break  :D

The black box with the black wires coming out of the right is the imobiliser spider (a switch unit which gives power to every thing on the security circuit, or not if its broken )

Good luck

Disco Matt:
You have two choices when you get to it:

Bin the offending part and fit a bypass plug (an official LR part, AMR4956)

Or pop the spider box open (the end by the socket unclips) and resolder the dry joints that cause the problem.

HHP:
Hi Chaps

Thanks for all the advice, you were right it was the green box passenger foot well, so got a new one from Remotekey and two new fobs, they also supplied me with a bridging plug to bypass the spider so I would not have to get it programmed, apparently the spider forwards the signal to the fuel pump.

So Tuesday evening aremed with the new bits I pulled out the centre dash binnacle, and that's were it all went pair shaped NO +%**ING SPIDER, not there, gone, vanished, missing, AWOL, empty space, no nuffing!!!! :?. So Wednesday back on the phone to Remotekey, "Oh" he said "are yes" he said "you must have the fuel pump with the code reader in the black plastic box on the back of the pump, Landrover made about 6 of them, you got two choices get the pump reprogrammed to the new green box or smash the unit off the back of the pump and hot wire the solenoid.

So I have got to make the choice, can't say I want to take a hammer to the most expensive part on the whole engine so I guess it's get it reprogrammed, anyone know anyone who could do that for me?

Oh what fun. :?

Thanks again lads.  Alan....

Dr Neil:
You could take the pump off and take it to a diesel specialist and have them remove the box! Then all you need is an ignition feed to the stop solenoid.Might be worth a thought??
