hi all, im new to this site, so..hi!

ive just bought a santana 410, and i need to sort a few problems with it

. the window in the driver side is disconected from the  actual winding mechanism. ive had the door cover thing off and cant seem to get it back together, as there isnt enough space to do this inside the door.

. speedo dosnt work

. fuel gauge dosnt work, although sometimes it jumps up and then goes straight back down, usually goin over bumps or round corners

. shocks are non existant - can i get hold of cheap shocks to replace them with?

. its a nightmare to start in the cold, and it seems the starter motor sticks on when i turn the key.. replaced the solonoids beforehand as it wasnt working atall, then it did work perfectly, and then on a stupidly cold morning the other day i turned the key and it just didnt dissengage. the car didnt actually start so i just left it till the battery went flat.

. Is there anyway i can clean the soft top cause its UGGO and makes the whole thing look abit pikeyish.. can i just bung it in the washin machine, ive tryed scrubbin it which didnt really help

this is a pic of how it looked when i bought it.. ill get one up tomorow, its been scrubbed  :police:

Hi and welcome to the Site.

The Window maybe the winder has came out of the bottom of the glass it usually has to slide back, I not done it on a SJ but my old Astra i had to drill over the rivets for the mech and twist it about.

Speedo have you check the cable at both end in the back of the dash and the other end goes into the tranfer box you need to undo the little 10mm bolt to pull it out get someone to spin the cable and see if the speedo moves,

Fuel gauge is proberly an earth issue

Shocks you can use Astra mk2 shocks on the front but I think these are for lifted trucks if not try SJ-UK for spares they do some standard shocks.

I cleaned my soft top by laying it out on the floor and using a brush, persil and a hose pipe came out alright.

Hope this helps you out a little

sorry im really new to this stuff, where abouts is the transfur box? thanks for your help  :D

Pop your location on your post, you may be able to find someone in the area willing to give you a hand.....

The transfer box is behind the gearbox......

Steve
