whining noise

zulublue:
I have just had a new mainshaft put in my LT77, at the same time I had the LT-230 changed (second hand but was nice a tight with no play), when I now drive it I get a high pitched whining noise coming from around that area, is this normal, does the mainshaft have to bed in?

Guardian.:
that will be the transfer box bearings whining at a guess, just have to put up with it, or do what i did and buy a new one. you will eventually cuz it drives you crazy.

Range Rover Blues:
IIRC LT230s run on EP90, if so try some oil stabiliser from Lucas oils.  I put some in my B-W and it stopped some of the rumbling I was hearing, what was really impressive is the rumbling turned out to be the front diff, the oil was stopping the noise being transmitted through the drivetrain.

Evilgoat:
Saw a demo of that at a local motor factors and I was debating getting some to shut the Zooks gearbox up. I think I just might now.
